The deal with Steve McQueen’s 1963 Ferrari 250 Belinetta Lusso in an auction was quite impressive. I have learned from
askaprice.com that it was able to double the original offer of £400,000 and £600,000. This Lusso was actually designed by Pinin Farina. It has brown metallic paint with a beige leather interior. It really looks classically elegant which actually suits my taste in an old model car.
Well, I guess the vehicle is worth everything. It is because Mike Regalia, the owner, gave so much effort in restoring the vehicle’s original condition for over a decade. He took him approximately 4,000 hours to do so. That is though he was able to buy it for less than the amount for a new Lexus.
I’m sure the anonymous buyer would be so much happy with the car.
As mentioned, there are other vehicles under the notorious speed nut McQueen. Some of them are:
- Porsche 917 (race car)
- Porsche 908 (race car)
- Ferrari 512 (race car)
- Jaguar D-Type XKSS
- Porsche 356 Speedster
As with McQueen’s background, it has been known that he flirted with the idea of becoming a professional racer. Furthermore, he owned a succession of fast cars and bikes until his death in 1980. He indulged his passion for racing in the Le Mans, Bullitt and The Great Escape.
Hmmm… It seems interesting to make my own life a legend. I might just have to possess the dedication which I might use to maintain a car that has been around for ages or even attain my personal goals and dreams.
